| The MG A despite being only a few years younger than the TD is quite different in appearance, with the way her curves blend into each other to create a much more modern looking motor car. This is an excellent example of the iconic British sports car, a real head turner with its stunning looks and typically throaty tuneful exhaust tone.
Sue, our 1959 MG A is a beautiful car with her engine bay set out as it would have looked when she first rolled off the Abingdon production line to the happy throngs of the motoring world. The 1500 cc engine gives a lot more pace than the TD but as an almost 50 year old it is not quite comparable with today’s sports cars in the speed department. She handles great and is a popular drive with both men and women, and has two seats.
The A has a folding soft top hood with removable side screens, giving you piece of mind about protection against the elements jut in case the weather should take a change for the worse. With its boot and shiny boot rack it has all the necessary space for trips around Devon and would make any enthusiasts’ weekend, one to remember. She is particularly popular for romantic days out and looks equally great sat in the car park of a posh restaurant or near your picnic down by the river.
The MGA is a very easy to drive classic, it has a four speed gear box and can keep up with modern traffic. Like all our cars it is ideally designed for open top driving, and is great along the stunning coastal roads or cruising across the beautiful moors.
