Whilst it could be argued that it is not yet a classic, the MGF surely has every quality to become one in the future. Many MG “classic” enthusiasts are surprised by the excellent handling, mod cons, power steering and comfort of the car and yet it still retains that quintessential MG feel.
Named Foxy for reasons long since forgotten, he has a great character and has been with us for a while. We originally bought the F to take us on MG “runs” which we deemed too far for our original MGB and have found Foxy great for long journeys. This model is the 1600cc version which makes it a little slower than the 1800 model, but he still thrills the driver with enough style and energy to stand out in the crowd. He really hugs the corners and is a great contrast to the older cars. He has 2 seats, quite a roomy boot, DAB radio / CD player, wind shield and a very easy folding hood.
This car is perfect for trying our “Past and Present” option, where you can drive an old classic to sample the way motoring was all those years ago and then take the MGF for a cruise, really showing the difference between motoring over the decades. Foxy is fun and easy to drive with his 5 speed gearbox and a great way to really sample the vehicle should you be thinking of having one yourself.
